Resources

A resource is something you sell that also has a direct cost.

Examples:

Servers
Hosting infrastructure
Licenses
Third-party tools

Resource types & providers

Resources are organized using:

Types

Define what kind of resource it is (e.g. Server, License, Domain, SSL)

Providers

Define where the resource comes from (e.g. AWS, Hetzner, Google Cloud)

This structure helps you:

Keep resources organized
Analyze costs by provider
Understand where your money goes

Creating and managing resources

You can:

Add new resources
Edit basic information
Assign them to clients
Track their cost over time

Cost history (very important)

Resource costs change over time. SokoCRM keeps a full history of these changes.

When a new cost is added:

The previous cost is automatically closed but the info is there.
The new cost becomes active.

Example
Jul 2024 – Jun 2025 → €51/month
Jun 2025 – Present → €65/month

Assignments (client pricing)

Assignments define how a resource is sold to clients

Each assignment includes:

Client
Price
Billing cycle
Start date
Optional end date

New client assignment (first time)

When assigning a resource to a client for the first time:

Select the client
Set the price
Choose the billing cycle
Define the start date
Save the assignment

Existing client (upgrade or downgrade)

If the client already has an active assignment and something changes

Close the current assignment (set an end date)
Create a new assignment with the updated price or terms

Note: Unlike resource costs, multiple assignments can exist simultaneously for the same client. This allows flexibility in representing real-world scenarios such as multiple services, resources, or overlapping plans.
