Services

A service is something you sell using your time and expertise.

Examples:

Maintenance
Hosting inConsultingfrastructure
SEO
Support

Service types

Services are organized using:

Types

Define what kind of service it is (e.g. Hosting, Maintenance, SEO, Support)

This structure helps you:

Keep services organized
Categorize your offerings
Understand how your revenue is distributed

Creating and managing services

You can:

Add new services
Edit basic information
Assign them to clients

Each service is primarily defined by its assignments.

Assignments

Assignments define how a service is sold to clients

Each assignment includes:

Client
Price
Billing cycle
Start date
Optional end date

New client assignment (first time)

When assigning a service to a client for the first time:

Select the client
Set the price
Choose the billing cycle
Define the start date
Save the assignment

Existing client (upgrade or downgrade)

If the client already has an active assignment and something changes

Close the current assignment (set an end date)
Create a new assignment with the updated price or terms

Note: Unlike resource costs, multiple assignments can exist simultaneously for the same client. This allows flexibility in representing real-world scenarios such as multiple services, resources, or overlapping plans.
